Treatment

Routine living can be dangerous in itself. We treat: cuts, bruises and falls as minor accidents. Living at home this is all manageable we reach for the first aid kit kept in the kitchen and if it requires more attention we simply attend the Doctors or go to the hospital. However, in survival situations even minor cuts can become problematic. Cuts can easily become infected and if we are somewhere humid or in the Jungle they can spread fast. So how can we treat these? Well we certainly can't pop along to the hospital. We now need to carry the medication we might use or know how to extract it from our surroundings; and of course we must know how to administer it. This section aims to provide a basic framework for treating yourself in survival situations.
